The present research aimed at finding the effect of educational multimedia and Laboratory Method of teaching physics to 10th Standard students. The researcher tried to determine whether the educational multimedia and Laboratory Teaching Method (LTM) would be significantly more effective than the Traditional method in respect to the male and female students. Totally 181 male and female students were selected from high schools in Zanjan city in Iran and hence 94 male students and 87 female students formed the sample of the study. The students were selected using random sampling technique and classified into two experimental groups (which are known as experimental group 1 and experimental group 2) and one control group. The experimental group 1 was taught using educational multimedia, the experimental group 2 was taught using LTM and the control group was taught using Traditional method of teaching. The students of experimental and control groups were given the pre-test on achievement in Physics and the post-test was administered at the end of the experimental work to the above groups. After a gap of one month, the delayed post test for achievement in Physics was administered to all the experimental and the control groups to determine the retention level of the students. The Statistical techniques used to analyze the obtained research data were the one-way analysis of Variance (ANOVA), for matching the groups at pretest, factorial analysis of variance (MANOVA) and Tukey's follow-up test for studying the hypothesizes using SPSS software. The findings of research showed that students who were taught using educational multimedia had a better learning and retention compare to the students who were taught using Laboratory Teaching Method and Traditional Method of Teaching.
