Abstract

This paper presents an analysis and synthesis of historical data on outsiders in the Persian Gulf region. The history of outsiders (Portugal, Dutch, Britain and United States) in the Persian Gulf region is reviewed, from the earliest possible references to the 16th century. Outsiders chose to occupy areas of influence in the Persian Gulf according to Imperialism designs. The economical advantages of the region due to the abundant energy resources (oil and gas) and also the geographical situation increased the importance of the Persian Gulf region and attracted the outsiders. The energy resources will be to continue to violent conflicts by the outsiders in the Persian Gulf region in 21th century.
