The data is being collected on variables such as number of societies, memberships, share capital, working capital, reserves and other funds, borrowing and different forms of loans of housing cooperatives in Karnataka. Further, it analysed the working of housing cooperative societies in terms of their organisation, members, financial position, working of the two state level apex housing societies and their role in developing the primary housing societies. It found that there is increasing trends in the number of housing cooperative societies and memberships since 2000. The financial position of housing cooperatives estimated on the share capital, working capital, borrowings and reserve and other funds. On the other hand, the loan performance of the housing cooperatives is estimated on the loans advanced, loans outstanding and loan overdue.
