Abstract

Each job is associated with stress, but some are more involved with stress. Regardless of sources and severity of the imposed stresses, studies suggest that people variously respond in facing pressures. Therefore, this research focused on studying the relationship between Hardiness and Quality of Life with job performance in employees of Tehran National Oil Company. The participants were all Employees of Manufacturing Support & Procurement Kala Naft Co., Tehran (175 females, 561 males); 254 individuals were randomly selected from sample. Data were collected through a Kobasa (Difficulties) Personal View Questionnaire, Quality of Life Questionnaire (SF-36) and Paterson questionnaire of job performance. Data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation test and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between Hardiness and Quality of Life with job performance. Stepwise Regression Analysis indicated that Quality of Life variable explained 45% and Hardiness variable explained 17% of the variance in employees’ job performance. In total, these two variables could explain 62% of the changes in job performance. The results demonstrated that Hardiness and Quality of Life significantly influence on employees’ job performance.
