Occupational self-efficacy and its relation to organizational commitment among teachers of Mysore city

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate relationship between Occupational Self-Efficacy and Organizational Commitment among teachers in Mysore City of India. To study relationship between occupational self-efficacy and organizational commitment; to find out relationship between work experience and occupational self-efficacy. Sample of this study was 600 teachers from Government and Private institutes that have drown by random sampling.a Pearson Correlation Coefficient has been applied to analyze hypotheses by SPSS version 20.results of Pearson Correlation Coefficient indicates r(598) = + 0.465, p = 0.00 < 0.05. Findings indicate a significant positive relationship between occupational self-efficacy and organizational commitment. findings highlighted that in educational field, teachers as a key element of the system should concentrate on some psychological aspect of their personality. This finding indicates high self-efficacy and high organizational commitment are positively related and it can be apply in workplace to enhance productivity of educational outcomes. But there was no significant difference between work experience and occupational self-efficacy.
