The article describes Mark Twain's novels and Gafur Gulam's The Silent Child are the works of writers, representatives of two national literatures, who have no genetic similarity. Although these works were created at different times, in different countries and in different genres, they have much in common. They are relatively close and almost identical both in subject matter and in plot-compositional structure.
