Location of central asian peoples on guillaume delil maps

Abstract

This article provides a scientific analysis of the historical maps of Central Asia, depicting the location of the peoples of Central Asia by astronomer, member of the French Academy of Sciences (since 1702), head of the Royal Geographical Society, King Louis XV of France. As a historical source, these maps contain valuable information about the historical and political landscape of Central Asia in the late seventeenth and first half of the eighteenth centuries, the geographical location of peoples, ethnic status, borders, demographic changes in the region, toponyms.
