Terminology occupies an important place in the life of every person because all people are engaged in certain activities involving the operation of special vocabulary. Due to the increasing need for the nomination of new terms, the problem of their formation also arises. The analysis of semantic relations is an indispensable part of the study of terminology. The article is dedicated to the study of semantic relation of synonymy in phonetic terminology. The author analyses the importance of studying the semantic relation of terms, particularly the terminology of phonetics.
