Evolutionary development of the concept “Happiness” in Chinese language (on the example of models)

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of “happiness”, which is reflected in the traditions, values and customs of the Chinese people over time. The concept of “happiness” in many languages implies ambiguity and abstractness. But in the Chinese language, it is already an interconnected, clearly expressed system. Chinese philosophers have defined happiness using five components: happiness, joy, longevity, career, and wealth. However, the concept of “happiness” underwent several component changes before it took its current form, and we will discuss this process below.
