This article examines the structure of primary sports injuries, provides statistical data on sports injuries in various sports. On the basis of the study, the authors have identified the most traumatic sports. The characteristic lesions of the musculoskeletal system were revealed, which are more common in various types of sports activities. At the end of the article, not only medical and pedagogical principles of the prevention of sports injuries are detailed, but also recommendations are given for reducing sports injuries in sports.
