The article analyzes the historical, dialectal variants of the ancient city name -Andijanpolysonymy and is scientifically based. In the work "History of Andijan city" by Ishakhon Junaydullohojaoglu Ibrat: "Andijan is originally Odinajon. Odinajon was the daughter of Afrosiab, who had given him an orda and a garden, and had given him a name. The toponymic system of the Uzbek language has reached its current level on the basis of step-by-step obsolescence, bleaching and renewal with the perfection, development and progress of our people and its language.
