Abstract

India is fast emerging on the world map as a strong economy and a global power. With a huge population and large untapped market, life insurance happens to be a big opportunity in India. In recent years, there was a remarkable improvement in the Indian life insurance industry, it has geared up in all respects, as well as it being forced to face a lot of healthy competition from many national as well as international private insurance players.

Private insurance companies are expanding their business and giving tough competition to LIC, slight down fall in the market share of LIC after privatization, new business is increasingly going towards private insurance companies but still holding the dominant position and the most trusted brand among the people, the life insurance industry of India witnessed a marvelous growth. The present study is confined to study some statistical figures regarding the performance of Life insurance players of India. In the first section of this paper, shows the procedure to be followed for getting an insurance policy is undertaken and then studied on some statistical inferences regarding their performances.
