Comparison of psychological and kin anthropometric variables of female handball players at state and national level competitions

The purpose of this study was to know the difference in psychological variables i.e. anxiety, motivation, adjustment and selected kin anthropometric variables, Body composition measurements between State and National level female handball players. The data was collected from 80 female handball players [40 in each group] of age range between 18 to 25 years by using anthropometry, skin fold caliper, Vanier caliper, steel tape and psychological variables by sports competition Anxiety Test, Sports Achievement motivation Test, Adjustment Inventory. The ‘t-ratio ’was used to analysis the data of the subjects. The female handball players at national level posses less anxiety, more adjustment and more sports achievement motivation and also posses more kin anthropometrical variables i.e. leg length, thigh length, hand length, hand width, girth measurement i.e. shoulder, hip, thigh, calf, arm, wrist, body diameter i.e. shoulder, wrist, knee and skin fold measurements i.e. biceps, triceps, sub-scapular, suprailliac, thigh, calf, body composition i.e. fat percentage have found significant than those of the state level female handball players. Other variables have similar values at both the levels of participation. It is concluded that national level players have more in psychological variables and kinanthropometric measurements than those of State level players. Because high performance groups posses more competitive maturity and lot of experience in the field of games and sports.
