Most of the people are not living in a sound state of mind. They are busy in unhealthy competitions. They want to leave others for behind and in the race of how to ahead of other. They try to put others at a loss by playing foul games. There are people who have all materials, comforts and modern amenities at their command but even then they are not happy. The problem faced by people today requires that health be defined in very broad terms. It can not be defined as merely the absence or as a purely personal condition. Health is the ability to function effectively and a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. Today most of the people can not go to bed without taking a sleeping pill even the doctors and teachers are not exceptional. Thus, we find most of the people are sick having mental tension and running after the materialistic things. Under these circumstances yoga can play a vital role to reduce and eliminate mental tension and to improve health. Yoga gives a message for modern health seekers and offer the rational and definite purpose of good health and the most direct and effective means of acquiring it.
