The global development agenda changes from the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The sustainable development can be achieved through environmental, economical and social factors. Due to the development in the digital era these factors of growth can be combined with digitalization and sustainable development can be achieved. Digitalisation helps in Digitalisation helps the companies to reap efficiency gains, Helps the state to carry out the administration in an effective way, helps to improve political participation and helps in easy access to services. Inspite of the benefits the digitalisation faces risks such as monopolisation, unemployment and polarisation of the labour market, abuse, unequal access and use etc., In order to be competitive with digitalization for sustainable growth properbandwith should be ensured along with a regulatory frame work to promote healthy competition for innovation and to provide proper education for adoption of digitalization. This leads to subsidies and penalties with the name of “economization of environmental/social aspects of sustainability”. The associated business models are such that in many cases suppliers are willing to subsidize the required communication infrastructures and offer services free or at very low cost to the user. Apart from that a regulatory framework should there to promote long term competition and innovation in the digital economy as well as to prevent abuse. Educational system should also be modified for the adoption of digitalization.
