Current status and development prospects of livestock in Uzbekistan

This article describes key issues of national livestock production and analyses the main factors of cattle sub-sector efficiency. It also provides recommendations for further livestock production improvement. This Chapter is generally based on the official statistics data and findings of interviews among private and dehkan farms carried out in summer, 2018. This publication is the result of analytical work carried out in the framework of the preparatory phase of the project "Improving the economic efficiency of livestock through the development of livestock raw materials (for example, Bukhara region)". The objective of this publication is to describe the current state, development trends and key challenges of the domestic livestock production.
