Mudra: As a helping hand for new entrepreneurs

Abstract

At present, the Government is mainly focus on to promote entrepreneurship among the people of the country. The main motive behind this is to increase employment opportunities within the country. It will contribute in nation‟s GDP and also enhance standard of living of people. But when a person takes an initiative to start its own business there are lots of hurdles during the establishment such as access to finance, skill development gaps, knowledge gaps, information asymmetry, etc. The growth of entrepreneurship is less because there are various problems, among these the main problem is that there is no sufficient finance available for new entrepreneurs. To promote entrepreneurship at ground level Government of India comes with the concept of MUDRA. This paper is an attempt to find out overall contribution and contribution of MUDRA towards new entrepreneurs. Findings reveal that mudra gives birth to a new set of entrepreneurs and working as a supporting hand for new entrepreneurs.
