Reliability for requirements measurement in multi- utility vehicle segment in India

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of data collection instrument prepared to sought the requirement and expectation behaviour of owners’ of Multi-Utility (MUV/MPV-Multi Utility/ Multi-purpose vehicle) vehicle segment and other-(Hatchback, Sedan, Mini-van, and Mid-size) vehicle segment owners’ towards vehicle design and service variables.

A convenient sample of 400 Multi-Utility (MUV/MPV-Multi Utility/ Multi-purpose vehicle) owners’ and 60 other-(Hatchback, Sedan, Mini-van, and Mid-size) vehicle segment owners’ is applied to measure instrument performance.

The instrument measured cronbach’s alpha for requirement on importance from 0.74 to 0.69. Cronbach’s alpha for expectation on agreement ranged from 0.71 to 0.65.

The study provided psychometric evidence for the application of variables based on importance and agreement by the owners’ of the vehicles.
