Hypertension is a common condition affecting the people all over the world. Non compliance to the treatment always ended with various complications. Hypertension is very high in Northeast Population and the patients are frequently admitted with complications. It was imperative to determine the factors contributing to non- compliance of Hypertensive patients related to management of the disease. The population was Hypertensive patients who are on medication for more than three months. Total enumerative sampling was done and the instrument used was self structured questionnaire. An ethical approval was obtained from the Research Committee CON, CIHSR. Data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The various factors identified related to non compliance are knowledge 18%,lifestyle 38% and easily accessible health care facilities 35% and medication adherence 68%.The findings of the study was associated with selected demographic variables and there was a statistically significant association between health care facilities and rural population in regard to non compliance (P< 0.001).
