A revolutionary drug delivery method called nanoemulsion allows for regulated or prolonged drug release. The application of nano and sub-micron particles in the fields of food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals is increasingly gaining popularity. Submicron-sized emulsions known as nanoemulsions are being studied as medication carriers to improve the delivery of pharmaceutical drugs. When the appropriate cosurfactant and surfactant are utilized to combine two immiscible liquids into a single phase, these systems are thermodynamically stable and isotropic. Specifically, this interest has been increasing alongside advancements in stabilization and emulsification methods. The two main categories of nanoemulsion preparation techniques are high-energy and low-energy spontaneous emulsification methods. Since nanoscale emulsions have unique qualities including great stability, a beautiful look, high performance, and sensory benefit, their popularity has increased significantly in recent years. In fact, one of the most widely used formulation technologies in the cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical industries is nanoemulsions. In addition to their tiny droplet size, nanoemulsions' exceptional kinetic stability and thermodynamic properties have accelerated their development as a drug delivery technology for cosmetic products and dermatological treatments including bioactive ingredients. The formulation and preparation technique greatly influence the nanoemulsions' quality. Their primary focus is on distributing high-quality products to consumers while also exploring the possibility of mass production. However, formulators do have some restrictions, particularly with regard to the dispersion of active substances.
