Securitisation - An imperative of financing infrastructure projects

With advent of modern information technology, certain new developments can take place where by sophisticated MIS can be formed for the originators of securitisation transactions. Certain innovative type of transaction in the styles of securitisation has taken place in the past and further such type of transactions is likely to take place. The development of capital market will give a boost to the tradability of the securitised products. The present paper aims to highlight the need for securitisation, what can be securitised and various applications of securitisation of infrastructure of project financing. Efforts have been made to mainstream the Indian experience regarding securitization of infrastructure of project financing. Further, an attempt has been made to enlist and rank issues in connection with securitization. Finally, effective measures have been suggested on securitization of infrastructure of project financing.
