The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of organization-based self-esteem (OBSE) on innovative work behavior (IWB). Empirical data consist of questionnaire responses of 248 banks’ employees in Kerman, Iran. Pierce et al.’s (1989) ten-item instrument is used for assessing OBSE. IWB is measured by Janssen's (2001) nine-item scale. Correlation and regression analyses are carried out to test hypothesis. The results show significant and positive effect of OBSE on IWB. Educations, age, gender and tenure of employees as control variables, have no significant effect on IWB. In addition, the control variables have no significant effect on OBSE - IWB relation. The conclusion of the study is that organizations should focus on improving the level of OBSE of employees to engage them in IWB.
