In today's competitive environment it is important for any organization to innovate, improve and adapt itself with the changing surroundings. This can be realized if the potential of human resources is fully optimized if they are in trajectory of growth. Human resources development plays an important role in developing a learning environment where the knowledge and intellect can grow.
The effective performances of the human resources depends on the type of HRD climate that prevails in the organization, if it is good then the employee's performance will be high but if it is average or poor then the performances will be low. The study of HRD climate is very important for all the organizations and the banking sector is not an exception specially when there is presence of financial recession.
The present study of HRD climate is an effective attempt to find out the type of HRD climate prevailing in the Public Sector Banks in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The researcher has collected data from Public Sector Bank of Bhubaneswar from officers of MM-III and MM-II using structured HRD climate questionnaire. That data was analyzed using several statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, percentile. The result shown that the HRD climate in Public sector bank is average and the perception of officers regarding the HRD climate do not differ significantly on the basis of gender, qualification and designation, but it differs significantly on the basis of age. The article ends by offering useful suggestions to the management involved in the operations of banks.
