Abstract

The inhibition of corrosion of mild steel immersed in simulated concrete pore solution prepared in well water by polyacrylamide-zinc ion system has been studied using weight-loss, FTIR and AFM methods. Results of weight loss method indicated that inhibition efficiency (IE) increased with increasing inhibitor concentration. The nature of protective film formed on the metal surface has been analysed by FTIR spectra and SEM analysis.
