Complex of oxalate ion and divalent iron with general formula Fe(C2O4).2H2O has been prepared and characterized by spectral FT-IR, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, and computational studies was carried. The complex has distorted octahedral geometries with two bidentate oxalate and two water ligands. These calculations have provided the most stable conformations and the lower energies.
X rays diffraction, hyperchem, hybrid, oxalate, IR spectra
