A simple, precise and accurate spectrophotometric method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of ambroxol hydrochloride and azithromycin in combined dosage form using multicomponrent mode of analysis. It involves the measurements of absorbance at five selected wavelengths 215 nm, 258 nm, 260 nm, 300 nm and 307 nm using methanol and sodium hydroxide (0.2 N) as a solvent. Linearity was observed in the range of 10–80 μg/mL for mixture. The recovery studies confirmed the accuracy of the proposed method. The results were validated as per ICH guidelines.
