Abstract

8-Amino-6-chlorocoumarine has been synthesized by multistep synthesis which involves the successive chlorination and nitration of salicylaldehyde. The coumarin was synthesized by using Perkin reaction. The resulting nitrocompound can be reduced to 8-amino-6-chlorocoumarine. This was then diazotized and then coupled with different βdiketones and β-ketoesters gives corresponding hydrazones. The hydrazones were cyclized by reacting with hydrazines to get pyrazole and pyrazolone derivatives.
