The new layered perovskite oxide DySr2TiFeO7 has been prepared by standard ceramic method. The powder X-ray diffraction studies show that the phase crystallizes with tetragonal unit cell in the space group 14/mmm. The electric transport properties suggest that the phase shows insulating behaviour and the electrical conduction in the phase occurs by 3D variable range hopping mechanism. The magnetic properties suggest that the phase is antiferromagnetic.
