The reaction of steroidal epoxides with a mixture of silica gel and sodium chloride gave the products which were confirmed by elemental analysis and spectral data (IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR). The method is economical, environmentally friendly, convenient, one pot transformation of epoxides.
