Abstract

Spectrophotometric method has been proposed for the determination of Naproxen sodium (a non steroidal antiinflammatory drug). The method is based on the formation of a 1:1 ion pair with Bromocresol green and Bromothymol blue in the PH range over 3.2–4.4 to give blue colored chromogen. Under the proposed optimum condition, Beer's law was obeyed in the concentration range of 0.01–5mg/10 mL. The procedures are characterized by its simplicity with accuracy and precision.
