Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of 1, 3-Isoindolinedione Derivatives as Analgesic and Antiinflammatory Agents.

A series of phthalimide derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their analgesic and invitro antiinflammatory activity. The target compounds were obtained by condensation of N-hydroxymethylphthalimide with the substituted thiadiazole. The structures of the synthesized derivatives were confirmed by means of IR, ¹H-NMR spectral data. The analgesic activity was determined by acetic acid induced writhings in mice and Invitro antiinflammatory activity was evaluated using thermally induced protein denaturation technique. The results revealed the importance of the combination of thiadiazole and phthalimide moieties as a promising analgesic and antiinflammatory candidate.
