Abstract

A new and simple method of preparing the amino acid analogues was devised. The aim of the study was to prepare a series of amino acid analogues and to screen for antimicrobial and antifungal activities. The synthesized amino acid analogues were confirmed by IR and elemental analysis. It was screened for antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative stains (Salmonella, Escherichia coli, klebsiella, Bacillus cereus, Micrococcus luteus and Staphylococcus aureus) and fungal stains (Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger).
