Abstract

Fluoro cinnoline containing organic compounds forms a significant class of drugs which exhibit an array of biological activities ranging from antibacterial, anti-cancer, antihypertensive, The present work aimed to synthesize novel 4fluoro-3-chloro cinnoline(2,3-d)pyrimidine derivative with a desire to obtain potent antibacterial activity. The synthesized derivatives are characterized by Melting point, TLC, IR and 1H NMR spectra. Among the all synthesized compounds 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d and 6e compounds tested showed good antibacterial activity. Anti-bacterial activity carried out in Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli compounds showed good activity against both Gram (+ve) and Gram (−ve) bacteria.
