Abstract

Ruthenium (III) catalysed oxidation of L-Isoleucine by alkaline permanganate were studied spectophotometrically over the range 25 ≤ t ≤35°C,I=0.5,2x10−4≤ oxidant ≤10x10−4,1x10−3≤ substrate≤ 5x10−3, 1x10−7≤catalyst ≤ 5x10−7. The reaction is first order with respect to oxidant, substrate and catalyst. The ΔH≠,ΔS≠ values were calculated to be 48±9.36 KJ/mol and -134.2 ±23.2 JK−1/mol.
