Synthesis of Some Quinolino Substituted Benzimidazole Derivatives as Possible Antibacterial Agents

The present study deals with the synthesis and evaluation of antibacterial activity of various quinolino substituted benzimidazole derivatives coupled with different amines. The derivatives were synthesized in moderate to good yields. The structural characterizations were performed based on their analytical data and IR, ¹H NMR & Mass spectral studies. All the compounds were subjected for antibacterial screening, among them 4a and 4e showed good activity against the organisms used. The antibacterial activity studies suggested that these derivatives may be developed further to prove useful in future drug development.
