A new series of teredentate NO2 acyclic complexes of type [M(L)X2] where M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and, L is tetradentate acyclic Schiff base derived from condensation of 2-hydroxy-Quinoxalin-carboxaldehyde with 2-aminophenol and X = Cl−, have been prepared and full characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic mpments and other NMR,IR and UV-Visible spectra. The spectroscopic studies revealed that the new Schiff bses behaves as teredentate Lewis base of NO2 type through the downshift in –C=N-, C=O and phenolic –OH groups. The tetrahedral structure was proposed for Co(II), Ni(II)and Cu(II) complexes in the formula [MLCl].
