Ability of Ni (II) biosorption with immobilized dead Aspergillus awamori biomass was investigated in the present study. Effect of pH, contact time and initial ion concentration on the Ni (II) removal by immobilized cell was determined in a batch system. The biosorbent was characterized by Scanning electron microscopy. The biosorption equilibrium was reached in 180 min. The maximum of biosorption was 6.80 mg/g (68.04%) at pH 5.5 and initial Ni (II) concentration of 25 mgL−1. The experimental results were fitted to the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. Langmuir isotherm model provided a better fit to the equilibrium data.
