In India health care has emerged as one of the largest service sectors. The sector has witnessed a vast expansion in the last four years. It contributes around 5% to GDP. Though the health care industry seems to be promising in India, the gaps are huge. The major problem of the Indian health care industry is the unequal distribution of health care services. This paper tries to review the reasons for the unequal distribution of health care services and its effect on the health of the society. The paper also suggests a model that may help in balancing the distribution of health care services in India.
