Abstract

The recent IT industry for the past one decade has been steering growth of indian economy when compared to other industry. IT enhance economic development in means of generating jobs, increasing exports, increasing foreign direct investment, enhancng wealth etc. The tremendous growth of the IT industry is propelled by the easy availability of competent english knowing professionals. Work-related stress is a growing problem around the world that affects not only the health and well-being of employees, but also the productivity of organizations especially in IT. The study aimed to find out the various factors or causes that involve stress and symptoms of the stress faced by employees working in IT industry. The proposed study was carreid among 130 IT professionals in Coimbatore city. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The study revealed that stress has significant impact on behavoural and physical symptoms for IT professionals.
