Abstract

The Supreme Court of India has come out with a landmark Judgement on 2G licences. By quashing all 122 telecom licenses allotted on or after January 10, 2008 to 11 companies, the apex body has given a clear signal that unethical nexus of Government officials and corporates will no longer be allowed to flourish in India. What is going to be the impact of the verdict on prominent entities remain a billion dollar question. The authors have made an attempt to analyse the impact this judgement will be having on Indian economy, the sufferers’ i.e the 11 unduly benefited companies, the old operators of India, foreign companies willing to invest in telecom sector of India, the present Government, customers and investors and so on.
