Abstract

Over the last decade the idea of inclusion of Children with disabilities in general schools has become increasingly the focus of national and international policies. The purpose of the present study was to examine the attitudes of physical training instructors (PTI) toward the inclusion of students with disabilities in mainstream settings and to compare the results with the findings of the other similar studies. The sample consisted of 132 physical training instructors working in different secondary and senior secondary school in Haryana. Teacher Integration Attitudes Questionnaire (Sideridis and Chandler, 1997) was filled by each participant and assesses scores for four factors: skills, acceptance, benefits and support. The results of the study showed that the attitude of PTIs toward the inclusion of Children with special needs (CWSN) depends on the conditions in the regular teaching classroom and the kind of services they are getting from the school administration.
