Abstract

This paper tries to find out the extent of violation of Child Rights in the context of Child Labour. The Article 24, 39(e), 39(f), 45 prohibits child labour and also ensures provision of free and compulsory education to the children up to the age of 14 years. The children work in hazardous as well as semi-hazardous environment due to the poverty. In order to run the family, the children sometimes drop out or are taken out from the school and they begin to earn their livelihood, which is a violation of laws and human rights. In Tripura, the same scenario persists because the children are pushed to join the labour force by their parents out of some earning compulsions. The National Human Rights Commission prohibits such employment of children in India because it is a hindrance to Human Rights and also the rights guaranteed by the Constitution, UNICEF and ILO. The present paper will analyse the consequences and immediate impact of violation of child rights and laws on health of child labourer.
