Abstract

It is possible to identify the location of various industrial sectors involves in tourism. Services such as Ticketing, Tour operations, Travel agents, Marketing and promotion are found in the traveler generating regions and at the tourist destination region, services located include Accommodation, Food and Beverages industry, Entertainment Industry, Tourist Attractions and Events, Shopping and other forms of Amenities. The Transport industry and other channels of communication are found in the transit route region. Foreign trade has always played an important role in the development of the country with abundance of resources. India has been able to export various commodities in Agricultural, Industrial and Service sector. Tourism Industry analysis in Manipur has “the weakness to be dealt with, threats to be minimized and the opportunities to be taken of full advantage”. Tourism as an industry in Manipur should be developed as a brand having certain distinct features which are different in terms of quality in comparison with the tourist spots in other parts of the country and the world at large. It is agreed by many and it is a fact that tourism is the one and only industry of Manipur which if harnessed properly and wisely through proper allocation of resources and putting tourism related business opportunities into establishment and practice that Manipur can prosper. Paper focus on whether Manipur is going to stand in the strategic shift of Delhi as just another state on the map of this policy or be in a position to work the geographical location to her advantage?
