Socioeconomic is an important determinant of the living conditions as it influences levels of knowledge, skill and income conditions which mean for their living.
Child labour is a Universal phenomena and it is a by-product of socio-economic structure of the society. Child labour can be classified as hazardous and non-hazardous labour. The empirical research on child labor shows that, poverty is undoubtedly a dominant factor in the use of child labour. Child labourer families are literally illiterate and had worked in an unorganized sector. Families of the child labourer are so poor that, they become dependant on their children's income.
The analysis in this section is mainly based on the data obtained from 300 child labour workers, which is 5% of the total child labour population of 6000 in Pune city.
The present research study is an attempt to examine the socio-economic condition of child labourer families in Pune city, urban area.
