An Analysis of Factors influencing Criminal Behaviors of Women

Considering more social freedom and social role gained by women, many scholars believe that women nowadays have more room for committing crime. The present study deals with effective factors of criminal behavior among women in prison in Zahedan City. The study also tries to recommend executive and practical solutions to lessen crime among the women. The results of standard deviation of the questionnaire showed that maximum standard deviation of the society were 0.301; thus, with error level of 5%, maximum sample size was estimated 69 participants. Out of 90 questionnaires distributed, 74 were returned. The questionnaire was comprised of 5 aspects of damages to family characteristics, personal/personality characteristics, cultural characteristics, economic characteristics, and social/native characteristics. The statistical tests results confirmed that only factors in personal/personal characteristics were not significantly effective on committing crime by the participants, while other aspects were found significantly effective on crime among women. Moreover, the results of variance analyses showed, with confidence level of 95%, a statistically significant difference among the factors in crime among women. TOPSIS technique was used to rank the indicators and in a descending order including education level and poor education, low vivacity and joyance, weak religious beliefs, poor coping capabilities, and excessive sensation seeking.
