Information is must for all round development of good governance. Good governance in government functioning is regarded as an essential ingredient of democracy and Right to information as a fundamental democratic right. Right to information and good governance are being recognized as the two sides of the same coin. To promote corruption free and transparent government RTI Act 2005 was passed as an important tool of good governance. IT enables the citizens to know about the government decisions and the basis on which they are made so that they can exercise sound judgment on the merits of public policies. The present paper discusses RTI Act 2005, its process and its impact on good governance
