Abstract

Life in this creation is subject to the clock time and thus subject to change. Time is a representation of continual renewal and rejuvenation, a series of moments that bind and hold life together. Though time is a unit that limits everything in a precise boundary, it is also in itself a reminder of the limitless. The realisation of limitlessness comes to man on the higher planes of consciousness. The transformation of consciousness apart from widening the perspective of man, frees him from the manacles of mental logical awareness, and opens the unknown vistas of realisation of the cosmic mysteries and the experience of the Divine - The Timeless Time. As human beings are subject to the clock time, the perception of the Divine gives the individual the consciousness of the intersection of Timeless Time in time. It is only Timeless Time that can liberate an individual from time. Eternity is time's ultimate limit which in itself is limitless. It is the consciousness of the Timelessness that can give the comprehension of time just as the consciousness of eternity can reveal to man the deepest value of one's own life on this earth. Through this consciousness one is able to transcend and liberate himself from life and time. The poetry of both T.S. Eliot and Sri Aurobindo records the moments of the intersection of Timeless Time in time to create an awareness of the Divine in human heart which can enlighten his path to redemption.
