Abstract

Industrialization is the only answer to come out of the present state of disrupted economy to ordered and developed economy in the future. To industrialize our vast country, in spite of the peculiar problems with us, it seems it can be better achieved by focusing round the small scale industries rather than by equipping the country, with the diversified large scale industries, which are requiring highly sophisticated technology and large capital. This is because India lives in villages for which rural development is the base for the overall economy development of our country. Unless we concentrate on condition of rural people it will become a daydream. In urban areas large-scale industries are set up and these industries provide employment opportunities to the people living in an around urban areas. In the socialistic pattern of society, it is need to insist balanced regional and economy development. When we plan for and develop large-scale industries in cosmopolitan centers, we should think and frame ways and means for establishing industries in rural areas. This will pave the way for rural development and also this is a boon for rural entrepreneurship. Keeping in view the need and importance of the rural entrepreneurship development in the LPG era, this paper highlights the qualities of rural entrepreneur, threats and challenges faced by the rural industries and to make possible suggestions to the government to follow new strategies or approaches to promote rural industries.
