Indo-Afghan relations in the changing world: A geopolitical perspective

Afghanistan is a crisis driven state for the last three decades or so. Outside powers have played a major role in deepening of crisis. Nobody can deny the geopolitical factors and interests of regional and international stakeholders. International geopolitics is making a transition. The focus of international politics that was earlier Eurocentric is shifting to Asia. India and Afghanistan has a long history of intimate relations. Geopolitically, Indo-Afghan friendship remained a source of strength and security for both in the face of a common hostile neighbor --Pakistan. In the changing geopolitical environment India needs to reinvent and redefine its role in Afghanistan.
