Adolescence a distinct period of adjustment or a journey to adulthood where a teenage has to face rapid physical, cognitive and social changes. Adolescence points to multiple and interwoven, normative changes, experienced by the adolescent with the period being a stressful period for some having implications for the Subjective Well Being (SWB). The present study was conducted with the aim to study the extent of religiosity and level of subjective well being among Gujjar adolescent girls and also to study the relationship between religiosity and subjective well being among subjects. The sample comprised of 100 Gujjar adolescent girls of Jammu district. Purposive sampling technique was used for the selection of Gujjar dominated areas and sample adolescents were randomly selected from these areas. The tools used for the present study were Religiosity scale and Subjective Well Being Inventory (SWBI). Data was analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the present study indicated that majority of respondents had high degree of religiosity and high mean scores and standard deviation (133.80±13.147). Majority of respondents had high level of Subjective well being. Mean scores and standard deviation of subjective well being was 96.070±8.516. Mean scores of Gujjar adolescent girls on various factors of subjective well being were interpreted by comparing it with the middle values of scores of each factor. Out of eleven factors ten factor had higher mean scores. This reflects feeling of well being arising out of an overall perception of life as functioning smoothly and joy fully of adolescent girls, only one factor i.e. Transcendence had lower mean scores than middle value. This reflects that the Gujjar adolescent girls have less exposure to the outer world. Results further revealed a positive moderate and significant correlation between religiosity and subjective well being of Gujjar adolescent girls.
